Clubs SA is the official industry body representing the interests of licensed Clubs in South Australia. Their major platform has been to effect changes to government legislation to enable Clubs to become more self-sufficient over the long term, and to also provide a recognised infrastructure for the active support and promotion of sport and community events across the Club industry. Clubs SA's objectives are to preserve, promote and advance the interests of member Clubs and the wider Club industry as a whole. Clubs SA's membership comprises not-for-profit sporting, recreation, social and community licensed Clubs located throughout South Australia. Clubs SA has been the Major Sponsor of Watch Around Water in SA since 2014.
The Local Government Association (LGA) of South Australia is a membership organisation which provides quality service and leadership relevant to the needs of member Councils. Its mission is to provide leadership, support, representation and advocacy on behalf of South Australian Councils for the benefit of South Australian community. Royal Life Saving SA is a Registered Training Organisation specialising in First Aid and Pool Lifeguard Training. They provide a range of services including the SA Water Vacswim Program, Statewide Vacation Swimming Programs, Lifeguard Labour Hire Services, Inland Waterway Patrol Services, Commercial Pool Audits and Home Pool Inspections. "The introduction of Watch Around Water in public pools provides an additional safety measure to assist pool Lifeguards maintain a higher level of safety in the facility."
Kidsafe SA is the lead agency dedicated to preventing unintentional deaths and reducing the incidence and severity of injuries to children aged less than 15 years. Kidsafe’s underpinning philosophy is ‘Prevention is better than cure’ and seek to influence government, organisations, communities and families to become more aware of how to reduce unintentional childhood death and injuries. "The Watch Around Water program, with its focus on active adult supervision at all times, acts as an important reminder to parents not to become complacent at public swimming pools as well as all other water environments."
Brenton Ragless is a Presenter on Channel 9 with an extensive background in broadcast media, public relations, emergency services, meteorology, defence and tourism. Outside of Channel 9, Brenton is an ambassador for several charitable and non-profit organisations, provides support to the CFS as an advocate for fire safety and prevention and assists in the preservation and promotion of Australia’s railway heritage. Brenton is passionate about water safety and survival – even more so now he has become a new parent. Swimming is a huge part of Australia’s culture and lifestyle, and education on this is an integral part of childhood development – both in the classroom and in the water.
The Germein Sisters is an indie pop band from Adelaide made up of sisters Georgia (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Ella (electric cello, bass guitar, backing vocals), and Clara Germein (drums, guitar, backing vocals). Music critics have compared them to other bands including First Aid Kit, Haim, and Coldplay - their songs have a catchy summer vibe with lots of sibling harmonies. The girls' first paid jobs were teaching swimming and lifeguarding, so understand how important safety around water is.
Louise Adams was Runner Up on talent show The X Factor 2015. Since the show, she has signed to Sony Music Australia, released her first album History and now playing at festivals before heading back into the studio for recording. Louise lives in the state's South East and is also a lawyer, swimming instructor, mother to Frankie and wife to Andy. Louise believes the responsibility of water safety and enjoyment is not just up to instructors and lifeguards, it is a family and community responsibility around recreational water environments and water around the home.
