How can partnerships positively influence participation at your recreation facility?
Local Government and State Sporting Organisations will talk about how they can work together to benefit the Community Recreation sector.
The City of Salisbury has established a number of sports development plans in partnership with SSOs and local clubs to benefit community recreation in the local area.
City of Salisbury’s Sports Development Officer, Paul Zimny will discuss:
- The starting point and motivations for focusing on partnerships
- The benefits and barriers of working with SSO’s
- How mutually beneficial relationships with SSOs have delivered creative and affordable recreation opportunities in Salisbury
- Discussion of successful programs’ Growing for Gold, Midnight Basketball and the Sport and Recreation Network that have emerged from powerful partnerships
Netball SA has worked closely with Salisbury Council to build a strong and mutually beneficial partnership. Netball SA’s Community and Member Services Manager, Megan Vine, will share Netball SA’s experiences of how partnerships have assisted it to deliver community netball programs and the barriers experienced when working with the community recreation sector.
