This workshop will explore how community recreation centres and recreation organisations can better utilise social media, to drive participation through their centres and communicate with their target audience.
The communication of information to customers or potential members is crucial to the success of any organisation or event.
The clutter that exists with current formats is making it even harder to keep in touch with members or customers.
This session will offer some alternative forms of communication and help you to analyse the existing ones so that they can be used more effectively.
Presenter Craig Burton is a recognisable figure across many sporting arenas in South Australia. He has held roles with high profile organisations including as Adelaide Football Club General Manager - Marketing and Communications, and Prince Alfred College Manager Communications and Marketing. He recently joined Investment Attraction SA, as Marketing and Communications Manager, which aims to attract investment to South Australia.
We all know content is king and the key to community engagement. Recreation SA communications officer and former Sunday Mail and Messenger journalist Heather Kennett will also share her expertise and offer valuable tips on how to compile content that is appropriate for use in the various forms of social media.
This workshop will:
- Review the digital landscape, where are you at with Facebook, twitter?
- Review websites and offer some advice on usability, architecture and on how to develop web sites and web pages.
- Discuss how to transact high numbers of contact points
- Discuss Social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, how are organisations using them, if not why not?
- Provide tips on constructing useable content for social media platforms
