Businesses, NGOs and community groups with proposals for the former Belair Golf Course and Country Club site are invited to submit their Expression of Interest proposal for the site by 1 November 2018.
Ideally located in the Adelaide Hills, the site covers more than 50 hectares in the south-west corner of Belair National Park, featuring a function centre, gazebo, club rooms, workshop and sheds, and a variety of tracks, trails and open space.
Environmentally, socially and economically sustainable proposals are encouraged, and Expressions of Interest will be considered for either a portion of, or the whole site.
View the Expression of Interest document for more information, including:
- Detailed information about the site’s facilities and features
- Proposal requirements
- How to submit your EOI
Representation during the Expression of Interest process is being managed by Knight Frank on behalf of the Department for Environment and Water.
To arrange a site inspection contact Russell Iles or Dan Gilbert at Knight Frank.
Community, business and environmental organisations were invited to share their views at focus groups, meetings and online to help shape the Expression of Interest requirements for the site, and their feedback is reflected in the Expression of Interest document.
Feedback highlighted that the community:
- value the site’s natural setting
- enjoy access to the site, including the network of trails
- favour a range of activities on the site rather than a single use
- support commercial activities on the site, including accommodation, hospitality, tourism and recreational opportunities
- support the site becoming a hub for arts, events, cultural and recreational activities.
The Kaurna community also have a very strong cultural connection with the region and are keen for future uses to support this connection, such as cultural tourism opportunities at the site.
Land sale, residential or large-scale commercial developments were not supported in any forum. View the community feedback report for more details about what we heard.
